About
I am currently working at the Department of Teacher Education in a ESF project on Development of Guidance and Working Life Skills in Higher Education (2008-2011). Previously worked at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research in a project on University Pedagogy.
In May 2010 I defended my doctoral dissertation "Discoursing Suomi Rock. Articulations of Sociocultural Identities in The Saimaa-ilmiö Rock Documentary" at the Research Center for Contemporary Culture, Department of Art and Culture Studies.
In 2004-2006 I worked as a lecturer in Nordic Arts and Culture Studies, NACS, MA programme at the Department of Art and Culture Studies, University of Jyväskylä. In 1997-2001 I was working in the Beatles 2000-research project. The topic of my licentiate thesis was "The Concept of Form in the Music of the Beatles" (musicology, 2000).
I have taught various courses on popular music & culture, cultural theory, project management, academic writing, and I supervise MA thesis.
I also have a strong interest in pedagogy and I work as a have worked as agroup tutor in "Pedagogical Studies in Adult Education" since 2003.
