About
I made my MA in 2007 in the University of Turku, with main subject of Finland's history. Nowadays, I do my doctoral dissertation in the University of Jyväskylä, in Department of History and Ethnology, and ethnology as my main subject.
In my dissertation I study Finnish women's experience narratives of work in 1940s and 1950s. To tell about work is an important way of constructing one's identity. When telling about work they did in the exceptional time of the Second World War and rebuilding, women construct also collective identity.
I'm interested e.g. in experience history of war, labour history, gender history, collective memory and methods of oral history.
I live in Jyväskylä, Central Finland, with a cat called Papu.
